The Man Behind the Mission

Stephen Dubov is currently the artist in residence at Atelier 3-D. He took his BFA in sculpture at the Kansas City Art Institute, and his MFA at Stanford. He was tenured at Sonoma State University where he taught both drawing and sculpture. Over the last 40 years he has generated a large body of non-traditional steel, plastic, ceramic, glass and paper works which can be seen on his website. His work is in public and private collections across the country.

Experience in collaborating with architects and professionals:
- Creating and installing a 20’ steel sculpture for the Stanford Museum of Art.
- Creating and installing a 8,000 pound stainless steel and corten sculpture for the
University of California at Sonoma.
- Worked on Running Fence with Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Marin County, California.
- Creating and installing a 6’ x 7’ x 12’ steel and glass sculpture for the University
of New Mexico Art Museum.
- Creating and installing a 5’ x 5’ x 9’ steel sculpture for the Kansas City Arch
Diocese.
- Creating and installing a 3’ x 6’ x 8’ steel sculpture for the Kansas City Art
Institute.
- Creating a glass wall mounted piece for the City of Austin People’s Gallery
- Creating and installing a 3’ x 5’ x 7’ hanging glass and aluminum sculpture for Cullen
House, Austin, Texas.
- Creating and installing numerous outside steel and glass sculptures less then 2,000 lbs.
